Rev. Michele Rogers-Brigham
Rev. Dr. Ann Michele Rogers-Brigham grew up in Southern Arizona and South Mississippi. Her parents were farmers and ranchers. The family attended the Dixie Baptist Church in Hattiesburg and the Salem Baptist Church in Collins.
She graduated from Collins High School in Collins, Miss., and Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss. She received her Masters of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. She later earned her Doctor of Ministry degree in pastoral counseling/psychology from Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Centre, Mass. She is a licensed pastoral counselor.
Rev. Michele married Bill Brigham in 1973. The couple was ordained at The First Baptist Church in 1979. They served as missionaries in Bangkok, Thailand where they determined their desire to enter the UCC denomination.
Rev. Michele received recognized ministerial
standing in the United Church of Christ by the Metropolitan Boston Association in 1989. She served as pastor of the Montvale Congregational Church in Woburn and the Union Congregational Church in Walpole before becoming the Senior Pastor of The Federated Church of Orleans on Cape Cod in 1999. The Federated Church of Orleans is a UCC congregation founded in 1646. She was the Protestant Chaplain at Bentley College in Waltham for seven years. Her UCC ministerial standing resides, presently, in the Barnstable Association
Rev. Michele and Bill have two grown children. Son, Paul (age 27), his wife, Heather, and their daughter, Sierra (age 3), live in Sandwich, Mass. Ann Martha (age 18) will be studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Los Angeles this Fall after high school graduation. Bill and Michele visit Mississippi often where their mothers, Marcie Brigham (from Yazoo City) and Jean Rogers (Collins), still live.
